Shotley Bridge Dental Care is inviting its patients and members of the public to donate oral health products to go to local food banks to help those less fortunate.
We have set up a dedicated collection area where people can drop off unused, oral health products such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, etc. These will be regularly delivered to food banks in the Consett area.
Everyone is aware of food banks and the importance of donating food for those less fortunate. However, oral health tends to be given a lower priority than food, which is understandable as it can be expensive and perhaps classed as more of a luxury when money is tight. But it’s important that oral health shouldn’t be neglected – particularly for children because that only stores up more trouble for the future.
We decided as a practice that we could take on the collection of donated oral health products to then add to the food packages the less fortunate already receive.
People are welcome to drop of products within practice opening times which are Monday 9am-7pm, Tuesday – Thursday 8am -5:30pm and Friday 8am – 5pm.
